Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and complete less complex engine repairs at customer sites in the United States, New Mexico, Hobbs. The role involves using specialized tools, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work for payment and history tracking.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel engine experience, reads manuals and schematics, and can work with electronic diagnostics. A CDL may be required and relocation is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel engine or heavy-duty equipment repair experience
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information and use electronic diagnostic tools
• Experience working on Cummins or other heavy-duty diesel engines, including electronic engine controls and aftertreatment systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems in the field, including troubleshooting electrical, fuel, cooling, air, and aftertreatment systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and major/minor repairs while following safety, quality, and manufacturer procedures.
• Communicate repair findings and updates with customers, service coordinators, and the team; properly document work performed, parts used, and troubleshooting steps.
• 2+ years of diesel engine or heavy-duty equipment repair experience, preferably in a field-service environment.
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
