Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel/heavy equipment mechanic to ensure vehicles and equipment operate at peak efficiency. The role covers troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and service across diverse makes and models, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of mechanic experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team, while maintaining detailed records and meeting repair deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to handle physical workload and demonstrate integrity and trust in the workplace.
• Ability to work independently and on a team; lead, execute and/or delegate as needed, while fostering inclusive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Inspect belts, hoses and mechanical systems; perform lubrication, light service, electrical and preventive maintenance; document repairs.
• Work on a variety of makes, models and equipment; refer heavy-duty repairs to the designated Repair Service Company.
• Maintain repair records and report to supervisor; ensure timely completion of work orders.
