MSR Technology Group in Franklin Park, IL is seeking a skilled Tooling/Machine Builder to repair and modify progressive dies. You will troubleshoot die issues, fabricate components, and perform tooling changeovers with attention to blueprint accuracy.

candidates should read blueprints and CAD drawings, use calipers and micrometers, and operate lathes and milling machines while maintaining safety in a noisy plant environment. This is a full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of proper die-build procedures, punch press equipment, and metal forming processes.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers, alongside standard tool room machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and procedural manuals.
• Strong grasp of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, and decimals for precise measurements.
• High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of related experience preferred, or a TMA certificate.
• Physical Demands: Capacity to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally lift or move more than 80 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Build and repair progressive dies following strict design and blueprint guidelines.
• Modify existing tooling to adapt to changing customer requests and engineering requirements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex press and die performance issues on the floor.
• Execute tooling changeovers efficiently across multi-part production tooling systems.
• Operate machine tools including drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines to fabricate components.
• Conduct test runs on completed tools and dies to check for smoothness, defects, and contours.
• Maintain safety standards while working near moving parts in a loud, industrial environment.
