Job summary

Magna is seeking a Die Setter for its stamping facility to support safe and efficient set-ups and production adherence. You will pre-stage tools and dies, coordinate with teams, and uphold 5S standards to maintain organized work areas.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, stamping experience, and certifications in crane operation and forklift use. You will contribute to continuous improvement and align with Magna's values and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred and relevant stamping experience is valued.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow work instructions and safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with stamping processes and prior experience in stamping facilities is preferred.
  • Certified Crane Operator and Certified Forklift Driver qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • The function of the Die Setter is to work safely and efficiently, ensuring set-up schedule and production needs are achieved.
  • It is expected that there is a commitment for never ending improvements and a positive relationship to fellow employee & leaders, while supporting the Magna Employee's Charter, Core Values and the policies and procedures of MST Inc.
  • Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies
  • Complete set-up responsibility
  • Pre-staging of all set-up (tools, dies, conveyors, chutes, clamping required)
  • Establish and maintain communication with other employees and support departments
  • Initiate and sustain 5s opportunities
  • Supply tool room with necessary dies
  • Continually organize die storage area
  • Promote good housekeeping (5S).
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience as Tool & Die setter is preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety requirements
  • Basic understanding of stamping processes
  • Prior experience in a stamping facility preferred
  • Certified Crane Operator
  • Certified Forklift Driver
