Job summary

• Support stamping die design and tooling for core sheet metal panels.
• Conduct early stamping process feasibility studies in an integrated CAD/CAE environment.
• Lead the creation of draw die CAD developments and construction release files for new model stampings.
• Update and maintain existing stamping die process information.
• Develop stamping die processes for new model parts, optimized for cost and quality, while meeting timing objectives.
• Perform simulations of stamping processes for formability evaluation and optimize through draw and line die simulations.
• Provide feedback to product design to address stamping concerns during launches.
• Support die design and tooling construction problem resolution.
• Domestic travel required up to 10%.

Job description

Die Process Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Define and deliver next-generation manufacturing processes in support of future-model vehicle programs. This job supports the engineering of stamping dies for Fords core sheet metal panels. Conduct early stamping process feasibility in an integrated CAD/CAE environment.
