Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Die Design Engineer to lead stamping die development for new model parts, including PFMEA and CAD drawings. The role focuses on cost, quality, and timely delivery.

The candidate will create 3D CAD models, review vendor designs, and collaborate across N/C, machining, construction, and tryouts to meet Ford's quality and manufacturing standards. Salary grades 7–8 apply.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or Tool & Die Journeymen's Card.
• Experience: 5+ yrs of related experience.
• Must have 2 years minimum experience in at least one stamping area: Die Processing, Progressive Dies CAD Draw Development, Die Design Die Construction, or Tryout.
• CAD skills required.
• Proficient in reading stamping die designs, both manual and CAD.
• PFMEA proficiency required.
• MS Office proficiency required (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Leadership in ONE FORD behaviors and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead stamping process development for new model parts.
• Liaise on progressive die feasibility, strip layout, die design, tryout and buyoff for new model stampings.
• Lead CAD development and release files for new model stampings.
• Develop PFMEA for new model stampings.
• Update die process information for improvements and carryover releases.
• Participate in cost requests and evaluate engineering proposals.
• Provide engineering support to N/C, machining, construction, tryout and buyoff of dies.
• Support die design investigations and deliver design solutions.
