Senior Stamping Process Engineer — Die Design & CI Leader

Job summary

Freudenberg is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with stamping die design experience to develop and optimize stamping processes in a manufacturing environment in the United States. You will drive continuous improvement, support NPI, and collaborate with suppliers to meet product specifications.

Qualifications include a BS Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in stamping, CAD/UG proficiency, and GD&T knowledge. Lean/Six Sigma credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years stamping process and die design or equivalent experience.
• Experience in steel stamping process, die design, and tooling for process improvements (compound, progressive, transfer).
• Desirable experience in stamping for aluminum and copper.
• Strong conceptualization skills for mechanical components and understanding of strength requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD/UG for reading, creating and editing drawings with GD&T knowledge (ASME 14.5-1982).
• Knowledge of Lean System tools and Six Sigma Green Belt or Red-X Apprentice preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve process capabilities using appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Input and analyze numerical data to identify patterns and relationships for optimal workflow and process development.
• Review KPI monitoring systems and leverage technology to achieve goals.
• Drive and champion a continuous improvement culture within the team.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to prepare products or processes for launch.
• Ensure compliance with local, legal, and Freudenberg HSE requirements.
• Design stamping dies and other tooling for process improvements.
• Communicate with stamping contractors and vendors regarding product specifications and requirements.
