Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) at the Outpatient level. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation, and may delegate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties under supervision and with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN team.
• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; document in medical record and adjust care plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families about care and learning needs.
• Provide safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with care staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and document effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource to the healthcare team and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing and shipping; reschedule missed collections.
• Update nursing assessment and care plan with interdisciplinary team input.
• Discuss transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
