Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. is seeking Patient Care Technicians to support dialysis treatment in a climate of nonprofit care. The role involves assisting clinicians, monitoring patient vitals and setting up dialysis equipment, under RN supervision, with a 3-month training program.

The position offers full-time, three 12-hour shifts starting at 4:45am, Sundays off, and a pay range of $18-$26 per hour depending on healthcare experience. Comprehensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills desired.
• DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training.
• Dialysis experience not required, job shadow opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities.
• Guide new patients through 120-day education plan.
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment.
• Role under RN supervision.
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment.
• Insert and remove patient access needles.
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns.
• Calculate patient’s weight loss to reach dry weight.
• Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
• Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights.
• Maintain and track inventory.
• Perform laboratory work.
