Job summary

Satellite Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in providing care to patients with renal failure under RN supervision. You will perform duties related to dialysis preparation, treatment, and post-treatment documentation in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The role requires CPR certification within 90 days, basic computer skills, and a willingness to travel for assignments. Prior dialysis or CNA experience is preferred; training is provided by USRC within 8 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
• Confirmation of ability to distinguish all primary colors.
• Prefer a minimum of 3 months in dialysis healthcare or phlebotomy experience or CNA experience.
• Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire as Patient Care Technician and maintained in good standing.
• Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire.
• Successful completion of USRC training course in dialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
• Ability to travel nationally as needed; assignments may be 6 weeks or more.
• Must be flexible to work most days/times (no set shifts).
• Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in USRC clinical applications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists with clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
• Demonstrates effective use of supplies and staff labor hours.
• Performs duties to meet patient care or operational needs of the clinic.
• Obtains blood samples for laboratory analysis as required to complete physician orders.
• Reinforces patient education under supervision as needed.
• Safely initiate and terminate dialysis treatments within protocol and state regulations.
• Monitor patients during dialysis treatments and document treatment records.
