Job summary

US Renal Care in Honolulu is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team and help deliver safe, comfortable dialysis treatment under RN or Charge Nurse supervision. You will collect patient stats, initiate and monitor treatment, and assist with blood sample collection per physician orders.

You will also prepare and disinfect dialysis machines, perform safety checks, and log results to ensure quality and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
• Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
• Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
• Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment; gather patient stats before and after treatment; initiate, monitor, and terminate treatment; collect patient blood samples per physician orders.
• Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments, clean and disinfect machines after treatment, and conduct machine safety checks with log results.
• Adhere to safety measures and state/federal regulations; participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
• Join US Renal Care team to make a difference in lives of patients with kidney disease.
