Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP1 track. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, participate in education, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities within the End Stage Kidney Disease team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state RN licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
• Document ongoing patient data in the medical record and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about learning needs and care plans.
• Direct daily hemodialysis therapy with the care team to ensure safe delivery.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and document effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing and shipping; reschedule missed labs.
