Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level professional registered nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 designation as part of the Clinical Advancement Program. The role focuses on assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned patient group, with potential delegation to care staff as appropriate.

The position involves collaboration with the ESKD health care team, participation in decision-making, teaching, leadership activities and quality improvement to enhance patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR/ BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN team.
• Collect and analyze patient data before, during and after hemodialysis and document in medical records.
• Assess and educate patient/family on learning needs; provide ongoing education.
• Direct daily provision of safe, effective hemodialysis in collaboration with care staff.
• Administer medications per prescriptions or algorithims and document justification.
• Initiate or assist emergency response measures and participate in staff training.
• Support transplant and treatment modality discussions; assist with care planning.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
