Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level professional registered nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 role. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in the dialysis setting.

You will collaborate with RNs/LVNs/LPTs, participate in teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and facility operations, while meeting CAP requirements for advancement.

Qualifications

• Assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient care
• Documentation of patient data in medical records
• Education for patient and family on care needs
• Provides and coordinates hemodialysis therapy with the care team
• Assists with emergency response and staff training

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from clinical staff
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and updates treatment plan as needed
• Educates patients and families about learning needs and care plans
• Delivers safe, effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the care team
• Administers medications as prescribed or by approved algorithms
• Initiates emergency response measures when needed
• Assists with staff training and orientation for new staff
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures
