Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Ohio is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP1 program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients in the End Stage Kidney Disease team.

The role involves education, collaboration with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, medication administration, and participation in quality improvement. CAP requirements must be completed to advance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs data collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the patient medical record.
• Provides patient/family education.
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the team.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection and processing; reschedules missed collections.
• Updates nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Ensures patient awareness related to transplant and treatment options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
