Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an Outpatient RN CAP 2 to join the End Stage Kidney Disease health care team. The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care, assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating care for an assigned patient group, with supervision and collaboration across RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

The RN CAP 2 may be an entry-level designation into the CAP for new hires meeting criteria or advanced from RN CAP 1.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Entry-level RN with minimum of 2 years of nephrology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties under supervision with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or collaboration with other RNs.
• Collect and analyze patient data during hemodialysis and update the care plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs and treatment options.
• Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy and manage medications per protocol.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and role-model behavior to staff; support continuous quality improvement.
