Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a professional Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 2 track, serving on the End Stage Kidney Disease care team. The role focuses on assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for dialysis patients, with collaboration across RNs, LVN/LPNs and technicians.

The position emphasizes clinical leadership, education, quality improvement, and adherence to policy and regulatory standards in a busy dialysis setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis and document in the patient record.
• Adjust treatment plan as indicated and notify supervisor or physician as needed.
• Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and families about transplant and treatment options.
• Direct and provide, with team, all aspects of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and document effectiveness.
• Serve as a resource, mentor and role model for new and incumbent staff.
• May serve as Preceptor and complete CAP requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
