Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an outpatient Registered Nurse CAP 2 to support the End Stage Kidney Disease care team. The role includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned patient group, with potential delegation to care staff as needed.

The RN CAP 2 serves as a resource and mentor, participates in education and quality improvement, and supports CAP requirements to advance within the Clinical Advancement Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.
• Entry level RN with minimum 2 years nephrology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential nursing functions under supervision and guidance of Supervisor/Clinical Educator.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis; documents in medical record.
• Educates patient and family about learning needs and treatment plans.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; documents effectiveness.
• Participates in emergency response measures and quality improvement activities.
