Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Montgomery County, PA seeks an experienced Charge Nurse to lead direct patient care staff and coordinate dialysis services. You will ensure safe, evidence-based patient care and supervise nursing operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Certified in CPR or successfully complete CPR certification.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day guidance, support and direction to direct patient care staff and participate in staffing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies and state/federal regulations.
• Approve or disapprove time or staffing changes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Participate in patient care plan meetings and dialysis-related training.
• Maintain knowledge of dialysis practices and supervise equipment use.
• Train staff and orient new hires.
• Monitor patient care and ensure safety and quality outcomes.
• Promote OSHA safety programs and safe working environment.
• Coordinate with Facility Administrator on staff meetings and information sharing.
• Assess daily patient care needs and assign tasks accordingly.
