Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for our Outpatient CAP-1 program. You will contribute to assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care for dialysis patients, collaborating with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and technicians.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will participate in teaching, leadership and quality improvement activities while advancing through CAP requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to direct patient care staff.
• Documents in the patient medical record and updates plan of care.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per algorithm; documents justification and effectiveness.
• Provides patient and family education and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Directs safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and teamwork.
