Job summary

Roche Holding AG in Houston invites a Field Engineering Specialist to join our Sequencing and Life Sciences division. You will install, maintain and repair Roche Diagnostics equipment, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide second-level regional support by phone.

Travel up to 70% and on-site training for colleagues are part of the role. Ideal candidates have a mix of engineering education and hands-on repair experience, along with strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 1-2 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
• High school diploma with technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs Roche Diagnostics equipment.
• Identifies and analyzes complex problems and escalates when needed.
• Monitors customer equipment performance.
• Provides second level support within the region via phone.
• Delivers on-site training and skill assessment with other field specialists.
• Maintains knowledge of products and supports instrument placements.
• Maximizes customer satisfaction and manages customer accounts.
• Promotes effective communication and completes all service activities per quality procedures.
