Job summary

Qualifications

• English proficiency is required for patient interaction and charting.
• Proficiency in diagnostic and vascular sonography techniques.
• Experience with patient assessment and history documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with radiologists and patients.
• CPR certification and registry eligibility requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Competent in the technical operations of ultrasound equipment.
• Assess patients and review orders to confirm exam rationale.
• Document symptoms, history, and obtain consent when needed.
• Prepare patients; answer questions; communicate with supervising radiologist.
• Record exam start/end times in RIS for timely radiology access.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety guidelines.
• Monitor exam timeliness and quality of care; pursue quality improvement.
• Perform QA of exams before radiologist interpretation.
• Participate in education of student sonographers.
• Participate in department Performance Improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
