Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a phlebotomist to collect venous and arterial blood samples, perform EKGs, and collect various specimens. The role also includes clerical duties such as patient registration, POS collections, and QA documentation. Courier duties and vehicle upkeep may be required.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, an approved phlebotomy course, and current BLS certification. Hospital or lab experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain venous and arterial blood samples and perform related cultures and point-of-care glucose tests.
• Perform EKGs and collect nasal washings, throat cultures, and nasopharyngeal swabs.
• Assist in clerical duties: patient registration, POS cash collections, correct registration errors, and specimen processing.
• Courier duties and daily upkeep of department vehicle as needed.

Job description

Primarily responsible for obtaining blood samples (venous and arterial) to include blood cultures, performing EKGs, nasal washings, throat cultures, nasopharyngeal swabs, and point of care whole blood glucose testing. Assists in clerical duties including patient registration, POS cash collections, timely correction of registration errors, specimen processing, completing quality assurance documentation, and courier duties of the department as needed. This position may be responsible for the general daily upkeep of the vehicle.Education/Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of an approved phlebotomy course.Valid driver’s license with no history of DWI conviction within the past 5 years or moving traffic violation for 3 years.Current BLS certification.Experience:Experience as a phlebotomist (in a hospital setting preferred)/previous laboratory experience.
