Job summary

Smart Staffing Group is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture and related specimen collection for both adults and children. You will maintain a clean, stocked work area and ensure accurate data entry into the Laboratory Information System.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic lab knowledge, and strong customer service skills. Experience in phlebotomy is preferred, with emphasis on precise blood collection and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year of related phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
• Basic understanding of medical laboratory technology desired
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good manual dexterity, and ability to satisfactorily and efficiently complete daily blood draws and maintain patient confidentiality required
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

Responsibilities

• Venipuncture & microsampling blood collection for adults and children as requested
• Perform bleeding times, sweat chlorides and glucose tolerance tests
• Keep work area clean and adequately stocked; order supplies as necessary from general store and/or outside accounts
• Greet patients, enter patient demographics and test requests into Laboratory Information System
• Answer telephone requests from physician offices and provide patient results to appropriate health care providers
• Deliver specimens and process patient specimens for analysis, as required
