Job summary

Waters is seeking a System Support Specialist 1 (SSS1) to join Global Technical Services for the BD COR System. You will apply systems-thinking to support fielded diagnostic systems, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with Field Service, Engineering SMEs, Quality, Manufacturing and R&D to investigate issues, analyze performance data and drive continuous improvements in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Relevant internship or thesis-based applications in Medical Technology, Life Sciences, and Diagnostic Instrument development.
• Experience evaluating technical problems using analytical and data-driven approaches.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, automation, and software-enabled instrumentation.
• Experience or willingness to work effectively as a technical contributor on cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work onsite daily.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates problems of moderate complexity and applies analytical/scientific principles to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems under general direction.
• Drives root cause investigations, both remote and on-site, to resolve field issues, collaborating across Service, Quality and R&D.
• Assumes a technical contributor role and works closely with other functional groups, such as systems engineering, software engineering, quality engineering and operations.
• Collects, analyzes and interprets service, product health and field performance data to identify trends, support corrective and preventative actions, and propose operational and system improvements.
• Develops, reviews and maintains service engineering documentation, including service procedures, checklists and technical guides.
