Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Sonographer I to perform multi-specialty diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide high-quality patient care. This role requires operating sonographic equipment independently, generating reports, and maintaining QA in a health-system setting.

The position supports on-call shifts per department protocols and emphasizes ongoing education to stay current with vascular technology and diagnostic sonography developments.

Qualifications

• Completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) or Vascular Technology education, required
• Experience in general ultrasound, vascular or echocardiography, preferred
• ARDMS or RVT registration required within 2 years of hire; must be registered in at least one specialty (AB, OB, VT, BR)

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams according to departmental procedures.
• Maintains safety of patients and staff and ensures equipment maintenance.
• Explain procedures to patients and accompanying family members.
• Document results and prepare preliminary impression sheets for interpreting physicians.
• Assist in training and orientation of new sonographers and participate in QA activities.
