Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Sonographer I to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, manage the sonography workflow, and communicate results to physicians. This role requires maintaining equipment, adhering to QA protocols, and supporting ongoing education in vascular technology.

On-call shifts may be required; the department emphasizes professional conduct, patient safety, and collaboration with radiologists and staff to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) or Vascular Technology education, required.
• Experience in general ultrasound, vascular or echocardiography preferred.
• ARDMS or RVT registration within 2 years of hire date, required.
• BLS Certification must be obtained within 30 days from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams according to departmental procedures.
• Maintain equipment and QA for safety and accuracy.
• Schedule management and daily operations of the sonography area.
