Job summary

Inspire-Health-Medical-Group seeks a skilled Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide clinically relevant information to the physician for patient care. You will review histories, verify orders, and ensure image quality while maintaining safety and patient comfort.

Responsibilities include communicating with patients, applying proper positioning, and performing quality control. ARDMS/SPI progress is encouraged, with CPR current and HIPAA-compliant data handling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• ARDMS certification preferred; candidate must pass SPI examination on hire and specialty exam within 18 months of hire.
• RDMS (Abdomen/BR/FE/OBGYN/PS), RDCS (AE/FE/PE), RVT (VT), RMSKS (MSKS) credentials pursued as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
• Ensure patient safety during the sonographic examination.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
• Verify that the exam order is complete and medically necessary.
• Communicate with patients in an understandable manner.
• Position patients properly and use ergonomically sound scanning techniques to ensure comfort and data quality.
• Perform quality control procedures to keep ultrasound equipment at optimal levels.
• Use independent judgment to differentiate normal from pathologic findings.
• Review exam images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
• Apply independent judgment to capture appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical data in images.
