Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Radiologic Technologist for Diagnostic Imaging at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role emphasizes safe radiology practices, patient history review, and precise imaging with modern equipment.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• State licensure preferred where required by state.
• BLS Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required before independent patient care at BSMH.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient clinical history and lab work for licensed practitioner.
• Positions and immobilizes patient for optimal imaging.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Performs radiographic procedures with imaging equipment.
• Verifies informed consent and complete pre/post-procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures; aseptic technique as needed.
• Performs timeout per policy and manages medications/contrast as prescribed.
