Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiology procedures under supervision, ensuring patient safety and high image quality. You will prepare patients, operate imaging equipment, apply radiation protection, document procedures and assist physicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (ARRT-accredited) preferred.
• ARRT Certification and Registration in Diagnostic Radiology required.
• State licensure preferred unless state requirements dictate otherwise.
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient's clinical history and lab work for license practitioner use.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to best demonstrate the area of interest.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories.
• Verifies informed consent and completes pre/post procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography; aseptic technique.
• Performs timeout as required by policy.
• Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed.
