Job summary

You will collaborate with staff, prepare lesson plans, assess progress, and participate in professional development to ensure inclusive, high-quality learning environments.

The role emphasizes planning, behavior management, and communication with families to promote student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an education field from PSC-approved college/university
• Georgia certification requirements met

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences aligned with the district AKS curriculum.
• Deliver direct and/or specially designed instruction per IEP.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop academic and behavioral programs.
• Participate as an active faculty member and share duties.
• Lead in-service trainings on special education and IDEIA.
• Support students with disabilities in regular classrooms.
• Develop instructional objectives aligned with AKS.
• Analyze student work to guide instruction and plan assessments.
• Prepare lesson plans and assess student learning progress.
• Oversee assessment activities and report results to parents and teachers.
• Organize the learning environment to maximize time on task.
• Maintain behavior conducive to learning and manage classroom
• Assist with special education student needs (toileting, positioning, etc.).
• Oversee due process and maintain records per guidelines.
• Participate in professional growth activities.
