Celestica, Inc. in Richardson, TX is seeking a DFM Engineer to act as a gatekeeper for manufacturability of PCB/PCBA packages.

You will run pre-DFM analyses, log findings with evidence, and collaborate with hardware layout engineers to drive design changes and supplier mitigations. Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in DFM, PCB fabrication, or SMT process engineering, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering, and strong IPC/Valor tool experience to support

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
4 to 8 years of experience in DFM, PCB fabrication engineering, or SMT process engineering in high-density electronics manufacturing.
Deep technical expertise in DFM, PCB fabrication, and SMT assembly.
Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-2221/2222, IPC-7351).
Hands-on understanding of SMT manufacturing parameters, stencil design, reflow profiling, and PCB fabrication tolerances.

Responsibilities

Pre-DFM analysis on assigned packages using automated toolsets and issue formal reports within agreed turnaround times.
Log DFM findings with severity level, routing paths, and supporting evidence.
Partner with layout engineers to resolve findings—driving design changes or mitigations when needed.
Verify closure of dispositioned issues on subsequent build revisions and document closure evidence.
Serve as SME supporting site-level DFM, PCB fabrication, and SMT process questions for assigned programs.
Propose rule changes when findings recur and maintain Valor check encodings across scope.
