Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Staff Engineer, Hardware Design (PCB Layout) to lead complex PCB layout with 12–28+ layers. You will work with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure robust, high-quality product development and guide design through manufacturing.

The role requires deep knowledge of SI/PI, HDI technologies, IPC/EMI standards, and mentoring junior designers. You will contribute to PDN optimization, DFx/DFT practices, and documentation for releases.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of dedicated experience in PCB layout and design.
• Experience with high-density PCBs (12–28+ layers).
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, impedance control and length matching.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and EMI/EMC controls.
• Ability to mentor junior layout designers and lead reviews.
• Experience with DFx, DFA, and DFT in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute the layout, routing and component placement of high-density, multi-layer PCBs (12–28+ layers) using Cadence Allegro.
• Route high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits with impedance control, length matching and differential pairs.
• Collaborate with the Power Design Team to optimize the Power Delivery Network (PDN) and thermal constraints.
• Work with electrical, mechanical and thermal engineers to optimize board layout for form factor and system performance.
• Generate, review and manage manufacturing release packages (Gerber/ODB++ files, fabrication drawings, BOM).
• Lead layout design reviews and establish internal best practices for junior designers.
