Job summary

Celestica, Inc. in Richardson, TX seeks a Senior Manager, DFM and SMT Engineering to own core DFM rule sets, drive pre-DFM screening, and lead governance reviews across global sites.

The role partners with Process Development and site engineering to resolve constraints, encode DFM rules into Valor NPI, and mentor distributed teams across Richardson, Shanghai, and Penang to ensure design packages pass checks with minimal rework.

Qualifications

• 11 to 14 years of relevant experience in DFM/SMT engineering or a closely related field.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the core DFM rule set content including spacing, fabrication standards, panelization, and SMT process windows.
• Plan and resource pre-DFM screening across package portfolios with tight turnaround commitments.
• Chair DFM finding reviews and define required technical evidence to close findings.
• Encode DFM rules into Valor NPI and progressively integrate into the primary design environment.
• Partner with Process Development and site engineering to resolve long-standing constraints around SMT manufacturing and panelization.
• Interface with site DFM teams to ensure design packages are checked once and avoid duplicate sign-off.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent across Richardson, Shanghai, and Penang hubs.
