Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated seeks a Process Engineer Co-Op in the dextrose unit to support senior engineers in monitoring process conditions, providing engineering support, and implementing process improvements that align with safety, quality, production, and cost goals.

You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world plant operations, assist with capital projects up to $50k, and help train staff while maintaining thorough documentation and up-to-date procedures at the Kansas City facility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; GPA 3.0/4.0 preferred.
• Ability to work 40 hrs per week during term.
• Learn and understand the corn wet milling process and associated systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations including process studies, troubleshooting, optimization, and data upkeep.
• Contribute to capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to support plant goals.
• Manage projects up to $50k with safety and engineering standards.
• Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date after project completion.
• Support plant safety initiatives in designing work processes to prevent injuries.
• Stay current in discipline and evaluate new technologies to improve process efficiency.
