Job summary

HX5, LLC is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer in Colorado Springs to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based integrations for DoD missions. You will work with AKS, AWS ECS, and Red Hat OpenShift, applying IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible while ensuring DoD compliance and secure containerization.

The role requires 12+ years of general experience, 6+ years in system integration with DevSecOps/Kubernetes, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of general (full-time) work experience (may be reduced with advanced education)
• 6+ years of directly related experience in system integration with DevSecOps or Kubernetes
• 1+ year of leadership experience
• Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift
• Experience with Coder Platform
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to develop and use highly complex concepts spanning multiple orgs
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+)
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain complex systems integrating with government infrastructure
• Lead cloud and containerization initiatives across cloud environments (AKS, ECS, OCP)
• Apply Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, HELM, Ansible, and Bash
• Hardening containers to meet DoD and MDA compliance
• Develop scalable architectures for IaaS and PaaS platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration
• Deploy and maintain cloud databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL)
• Create and maintain comprehensive integration documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues
• Stay current with cloud technologies and best practices
• Coordinate with government stakeholders on pricing and sourcing
• Report infrastructure capabilities to leadership
