Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to design and operate a secure, scalable DevSecOps framework for containerized apps in Kubernetes. The role emphasizes embedding security into CI/CD, IaC automation, and collaboration with security teams.

The candidate should hold a DoD Secret clearance and a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification, with hands-on experience in Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes in security-conscious environments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret level clearance.
• Proven experience implementing and managing DevSecOps frameworks in enterprise/cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Atlassian toolchains).
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable in security/compliance driven environments.
• Must possess DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE).
• Willingness to expand platform/devops certifications within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls.
• Automate infrastructure and app delivery using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Containerize legacy apps and migrate to Kubernetes/OpenShift-based platforms.
• Embed SAST/DAST, image vulnerability scanning, and config checks into pipelines.
• Manage secrets across pipelines and runtimes; monitor security posture.
