Job summary

Culper Technology is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support modernization, authoring, and tooling across the platform. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, heavy automation, and collaboration on secure, high-performing systems in Annapolis Junction, MD with occasional telework.

Responsibilities include deploying mission-critical apps, configuring environments, and driving reliability and scalability. On-call rotations with compensation are included.

Qualifications

• U.S Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Experience with AWS, Docker Swarm, and VM provisioning.
• Proficiency deploying distributed web applications using GitLab CI/CD or similar.
• Scripting with Terraform and Ansible for automation.
• Strong understanding of container technologies like Docker/Docker Compose.

• Install, configure, and maintain complex software environments.
• Manage network servers and supporting technology tools.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and overall health.
• Troubleshoot system issues, outages, and production incidents.

About the role

• We are seeking aDevOps Engineerto support the modernization authoring, dissemination, and supporting tools by helping drive DevOps engineering efforts across the platform. You'll work with a collaborative team to deploy, maintain, and optimize mission-critical applications while ensuring the environment remains secure, reliable, and high performing. This position is based inAnnapolis Junction, MD, withup to one day of telework per weekas project tasking allows.
• Please note:This position participates in a rotating 24/7 on-call pager schedule for emergency support (approximately one week every 4–6 weeks). Team members receive additional compensation for on-call rotations.

What you'll do

• Docker Swarm
• Deploying distributed web applications (GitLab CI/CD or similar)
• Terraform scripting and virtual machine provisioning
• Ansible scripting and automation
• Strong understanding of Docker and Docker Compose container technologies

The pay range for this role is:
