Job summary

Culper Technology in Annapolis Junction, MD, is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 (DevOps focused) to design, build, and sustain mission-critical web applications in a containerized Linux environment.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Software Engineers, develop Python-based solutions, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitLab CI. This role requires U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills and Linux proficiency.
• Experience with containerization and DevOps practices.

About the role

• We are seeking aSoftware Engineerto support the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of a mission-focused enterprise web application deployed within acontainerized Kubernetes Linux environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions while supporting Agile development practices and modern DevOps methodologies.

• Develop software solutions usingPython in Linux environments.
• Build and maintain containerized applications usingDocker and Kubernetes.

• Develop and integrateRESTful interfaces and APIs.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and software delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot software issues and support application sustainment activities.
• Utilize source control and Agile development practices to support team workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience usingLinux command-line tools and environments.
• Experience developing automation scripts usingBash and Python.
• Experience withcontainerization technologies, including Docker.
• Familiarity withKubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
• Experience creatingHelm Chartsfor Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience withSQL technologies, including MySQL.
• Experience designing and implementingREST interfaces.
• Experience withCI/CD principles, methodologies, and toolssuch as GitLab CI.
• Experience usingGit source control.
