Job summary

RCT Systems is seeking a Senior/Expert-level DevOps Engineer for a 200+ FTE ICAM program in Reston, VA. You will design and automate environments, break down requirements into tasks, and deploy across AWS/Azure/GCP platforms while collaborating with product owners and agile teams.

Lead architecture, coding, testing, and performance efforts, leveraging GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence. Excellent communication and independent problem-solving are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and automate development, testing, and production environments.
• Break high-level requirements into actionable technical tasks.
• Develop and deploy solutions using commercial cloud platforms.

Senior/Expert-level DevOps Engineer supporting a 200+ FTE technical development program focused on modern Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions. The role involves building and deploying cloud-based systems and contributing across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and automate development, testing, and production environments.
• Break high-level requirements into actionable technical tasks.
• Develop and deploy solutions using commercial cloud platforms.
• Support architecture, coding, unit testing, performance testing, and deployments.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and engineering teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.
• Use tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Unix/Bash, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Manage build artifacts and deployments across multiple environments.
• Identify automation and process improvements.
• Solve complex technical problems and develop innovative customer solutions.

Required Qualifications

• TS/SCI + Polygraph.
• BS + 11-15 years relevant experience, or MS + 8-10 years; equivalent experience may substitute for degree.
• Expert knowledge of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, and related practices.
• Experience with JMeter or similar performance-testing tools.
• Commercial cloud development experience: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud.
• Experience with cloud data services such as S3, OpenSearch, EFS, etc.
• Strong Git/version control and issue-tracking experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable working independently on complex technical problems.
• Agile and service-oriented development experience.
