Job summary

Batteries Plus Bulbs is hiring a Device Repair Technician to service devices such as cell phones, tablets, and light fixtures, and to help start the device repair function within the stores. The role includes repairing devices, shipping responsibilities, and contributing to training materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent plus 3-6+ months of previous device repair experience.
• In lieu of device repair experience, minimum associates degree in electronics, or other technical degree.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple commitments; prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, both oral and written; ability to inform, teach, and train.
• Working conditions typical for a warehouse environment, with some tasks in a traditional office setting.
• Regular use of hands to handle electronic products and frequent computer use.
• Lifting 10-20 lb regularly, 50 lb occasionally, and over 50 lb infrequently.

Responsibilities

• Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other devices as needed; Apple and Samsung.
• Receive, pack and ship devices.
• Develop written procedures and technical videos for common device repair activities.
• Maintain proper inventory.
• Participate in formal training of store associates; tear down devices and assist with video training production.
• Provide live camera-based remote support (Skype) for in-store repairs.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE.
