Job summary

Avantor is hiring an Assistant Manager, Production for the Single-Use Manufacturing department at the Devens, MA site. You will supervise 1st–3rd shift supervisors and cleanroom staff, coordinating day-to-day operations to ensure on-time production and quality across multiple teams.

You will drive process improvements, lead safety initiatives, and manage resources to meet customer timelines while partnering with site leadership to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or related experience.
• 2+ years leadership in manufacturing, assembly and/or packaging.
• Experience in a GMP & FDA regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reinforce manufacturing procedures to meet schedules with minimal disruptions and deviations.
• Ensure subordinates adhere to site safety procedures and near-miss reporting requirements.
• Provide information on on-time performance toward meeting customer timelines.
• Advise supervisors on resource allocations for high-priority and expedited orders.
• Collaborate with supervisors and internal stakeholders on problem solving and scheduling decisions in Single-Use Manufacturing.
• Ensure production teams and cleanroom leaders work collaboratively in decision-making aligned with GMP, KPI, OSHA and HR guidelines.
• Inform Operations Manager of major production activities and non-routine schedule changes.
• Define department goals and develop a roadmap to achieve them.
• Report department performance and KPIs; evaluate personnel and develop morale.
• Utilize lean manufacturing tools to improve productivity and efficiency within quality requirements.
• Supervise Cleanroom Supervisors across shifts and develop managerial skills.
• Review employee performance and conduct associate relations investigations to resolve issues.
