Job summary

The Samaritan Inn seeks a Vice President of Development to lead the fundraising team, drive strategies with foundations, circles, and grants, and cultivate major donors. This executive will guide a high-performing group of grant-writing professionals and partner with the Chief Development Officer to achieve annual fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in nonprofit development, with at least 3 years in leadership in the DFW area.
• Proven track record of leading fundraising campaigns and securing major grants.
• Experience in grant writing, grant management, and cultivating long-term relationships with grant-making bodies.
• Experience managing and mentoring teams, with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse groups of individuals to achieve shared goals.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop the grant team to ensure high performance.
• Build relationships with high-net-worth donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Oversee the grant development process, including identifying funding sources and managing relationships with grantors.
• Ensure the fundraising plan aligns with the organization’s strategic goals and budgets.
• Collaborate with programs and the business office to set annual fundraising budgets and report results.
• Monitor fundraising outcomes and use CRM data to adjust strategies as needed.
• Lead giving circles and wealth-management informed outreach.
