Job summary

City of San Antonio’s Development Services Department seeks an experienced administrator to supervise a division such as Field Services, Plan Review, or Land Development. Under administrative direction, you will plan, organize, and direct division activities, supervise staff, and coordinate with other divisions and contracted agencies.

The role involves preparing responses to City Council, developing training, monitoring performance metrics, and managing budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of customer service experience with municipal government, including three years in supervisory or administrative roles.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Develops administrative and operational plans to ensure efficient operation of a division.
• Oversees coordination between divisions, departments and contracted agencies on special projects.
• Attends meetings with stakeholders and associations related to the division.
• Prepares responses for City Council, staff and citizens regarding the division.
• Suggests and implements management solutions to address problems within the department/division.
• Monitors and maintains performance metrics for the division.
• Prepares reports relating to Development Services issues.
• Prepares training programs for staff related to customer services affecting the section and department.
• Prepares budget recommendations for the section.
• Serves as liaison to address City Council concerns through assigned staff.
• Coordinates street name changes.
• Represents the department on committees.
• Performs related duties as required.
