U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) invites an experienced Development Manager to lead fundraising, donor stewardship, prospect research, and special events from its Washington, DC base.

You will report to the Deputy Director of Development and partner with colleagues to grow our donor base and support program goals. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, 3–5 years of direct fundraising experience, and proven success managing five-figure portfolios, with occasional travel for events

Qualifications

  • Proven success managing five-figure portfolios and corporate donations desirable.
  • Experience using a CRM fundraising database and data-driven donor outreach.
  • Strong organizational, presentation and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for events and donor meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead donor stewardship, recognizing donors and communicating impact.
  • Develop a pipeline of corporate, foundation, and high net worth donors.
  • Draft compelling grant proposals and progress reports.
  • Coordinate donor events and member engagement activities.
  • Oversee annual membership renewal, invoicing and pledge tracking.
  • Collaborate on multi-year fundraising goals and growth plans.

Job description

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking an experienced, dynamic and energetic Development Manager to support fundraising efforts that advance the organization’s mission. This role will focus on fundraising, donor stewardship, prospect research and special events. The position is based in Washington, DC, and will report to the Deputy Director of Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Stewardship
  • Thoughtful recognition of donors.
  • Demonstration of the impact of our collective work.
  • Continuous engagement through the delivery of member benefits.
  • Tracking and analyzing donor preferences, giving history and communications.
  • Increasing awareness of member benefits and the value of active engagement among donors and prospects.
  • Evaluating and recommending new program offerings to meet donor and membership interests.
  • Conduct prospect research, identify funding opportunities and build a pipeline of prospective corporate and foundation partners and high net worth individuals.
  • Assist with drafting compelling grant proposals and reports to support organizational goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective donors.
  • Collaborate on developing multiyear fundraising goals to meet USGLC’s growth trajectory.
  • Lead the annual membership renewal cycle, including dues invoicing, securing pledges and managing collection processes.
Event Coordination
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on educational events for members and donor cultivation events.
  • Assist with securing special event sponsorships for signature events.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an enthusiasm for meeting people and the ability to recruit and retain donors.
  • A minimum of three to five years of direct fundraising experience, preferably with a nonprofit, academic institution or corporate membership organization.
  • Demonstrated success managing a five-figure portfolio. Previous experience raising corporate donations is highly desirable.
  • Experience actively using the advanced functionality of a CRM or fundraising database.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for U.S. international development and diplomacy programs.
  • Ability to travel and attend events outside of core working hours as needed.
