The Opportunity

Endeavor Agency is a commercial real estate focused talent and recruiting firm partnering with owners, operators, developers and investment platforms across the country. We have been engaged by a privately held real estate investment and development company to identify a Development Manager to join its growing Texas team.

Our client has established a significant development pipeline in the Austin / Round Rock market, with approximately 8 million square feet of current and future development potential across multiple large-scale projects. The portfolio spans multifamily, retail, office, hospitality, industrial and advanced manufacturing, with more than a decade of projected development activity ahead.

This is an opportunity to join a lean, high-performing team and take meaningful ownership across the development lifecycle, from early-stage conceptualization and entitlements through design, construction and delivery.

This is not a narrowly defined project management position. The Development Manager will operate across multiple disciplines, coordinate sophisticated external teams and take responsibility for moving complex projects forward in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The Role

The Development Manager will work closely with senior regional leadership to help execute the development strategy for a rapidly growing Texas portfolio.

Responsibilities will include:

• Manage development projects from initial concept through design, construction and completion
• Participate in early-stage planning, site optimization and highest-and-best-use analysis
• Lead entitlement and approval processes and establish productive relationships with municipalities, economic development organizations and other local stakeholders
• Coordinate large external project teams consisting of architects, civil engineers, MEP and structural engineers, interior designers, attorneys, contractors and other specialized consultants
• Assist in selecting architects, engineers, contractors and consultants, including reviewing proposals, negotiating agreements and managing contracts
• Establish and manage development budgets, schedules and critical project milestones
• Oversee design development and ensure projects remain aligned with the overall business plan
• Work closely with internal accounting, asset management, finance and leadership teams
• Support leasing, financing and property-level business planning as needed
• Identify issues early, solve problems and maintain momentum across multiple simultaneous initiatives
• Provide clear and consistent project reporting to senior leadership

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for real estate development and enjoys the complexity that comes with taking ambitious projects from an idea to reality.

We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:

• Meaningful commercial real estate development experience, ideally within an owner/developer environment
• Experience working across multiple stages of the development lifecycle
• Exposure to multiple asset classes is preferred, although candidates with deep experience in one asset class and broad development responsibilities will also be considered
• Experience with entitlements, site planning, design management, construction and consultant oversight
• The ability to conceptualize projects and think critically about site optimization and highest and best use
• Strong understanding of development economics, budgeting and the financial considerations that drive real estate decisions
• Experience navigating contracts, legal documents and complex third-party relationships
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to interact with municipalities, consultants, brokers, attorneys and senior leadership
• The ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of precision and accountability
• A self-motivated, energetic approach and comfort operating in situations where the path forward is not always perfectly defined
• Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, construction management, architecture, engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree a plus
