Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Assistant Director of Development for the School of Data & Information Sciences (SDIS). This role supports the advancement program by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, and by strengthening donor relations.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will build the prospect pipeline, prepare donor briefings, proposals, and materials, and collaborate with UDO, Annual Giving, and SDIS leadership to advance

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience building donor relationships, stewardship, and donor communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and event planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate donor prospects to support SDIS priorities.
• Prepare donor briefings, proposals, and presentations to support engagement.
• Support donor relations, stewardship, and engagement activities across programs.
• Maintain accurate donor records in the DAVIE CRM and track fundraising progress.
• Collaborate with UDO, Annual Giving, and SDIS leadership to advance fundraising priorities.
