Job summary

UNC Chapel Hill seeks an Assistant Director of Development for the School of Data & Information Sciences (SDIS) to build the donor pipeline and advance annual, leadership and major giving priorities. You’ll prepare donor briefings, coordinate engagement, and support fundraising operations with SDIS leadership and university partners.

Requires 1–3 years in development or donor relations, excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with donors, alumni, parents, volunteers, faculty, staff, and other constituents and to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.
• Working knowledge of donor stewardship, fundraising, gift management, prospect development, alumni engagement, event planning, and advancement operations.
• Ability to translate donor interests into meaningful engagement strategies.
• Strong organizational, project management, and implementation skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support the SDIS advancement program by donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, engagement, and development operations.
• Build prospect pipeline and strengthen donor relationships to advance annual, leadership, and major giving priorities.
• Prepare donor briefings, contact reports, proposals, and presentations for the Dean and senior leaders.
• Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM system; track activity and fundraising progress; support development reporting and calendars.
