Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for the Assistant Director of Development in the School of Data & Information Sciences (SDIS). The role supports donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, engagement, and development operations.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will help build the prospect pipeline, strengthen donor relationships, and advance priorities across annual, leadership, and major giving efforts.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 0–2 years’ experience in development or related field.
• Experience with donor stewardship, fundraising, and donor relations.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form and work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate donor prospects for SDIS fundraising.
• Support solicitation and donor stewardship activities across annual, leadership, and major giving.
• Prepare donor briefings, proposals, presentations, and reports for senior leaders.
• Maintain accurate donor records and assist with development reporting and budgeting.
