Job summary

The City of Pflugerville invites applications for the Development Engineering Assistant Director to lead the Development Engineering Division, ensuring subdivisions, site developments, utility projects, drainage, and ROW improvements comply with City standards and practices.

You will supervise engineering staff, coordinate with internal departments and external agencies, and provide technical guidance on engineering standards while representing the department at meetings and in reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience, municipal experience preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas; valid Texas Class C Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Development Engineering Division operations and staff.
• Coordinate development reviews with internal departments and outside agencies.
• Make technical engineering decisions on standards, criteria, construction, and infrastructure design.
• Assist in policy development and interpretation of engineering standards and ordinances.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and budgets for division operations.
• Represent department at meetings and liaise with City leadership and public.
